Description
This piece was a huge bucket list undertaking for me.
I read Humberto Ramos'Crimson in highschool, Have always loved J. Scott's work and read Gen13, (though not DG) and was always a huge fan of Joe Mad thanks to a high school art class friend Battlechasers = THE SHIT. I got raw covers of books I've owned for years, as reference for coloring this.
And lastly, Joe Mad was the only other big shot I've been after that I wanted to color left on my list. It lead to more work as well, and opened opportunities I wouldn't have ever seen coming.
It took 2 days to set up and color, and I've spent 2 more days writing a 3 part tutorial to it, from start to finish.
part 1 is prepping large group shot for color
part 2 is rendering large group shots using stacking color theory
part 3 is finalizing group shots.
They are quite extensive and take you through every step in DETAIL with settings displayed and explained. Its the biggest most detailed tutorial I have ever made, and I'm quite proud of it, in the end.
if you join for $10 you can get all these and every past tutorial, as well as already prepped pieces ready to color, flatted pieces! also lines for practice and layered files for learning.
