so, yet another trade cover with romano. these are super fun to do, and are always good to do for a break on the comic pages, since i can paint them and pretty much do whatever i like.
i am so very happy to know i have 3 more of these suckers to do in the coming month, that i can go to whenever i feel i need a break.
started this one last night to get a small break from pages, i just felt like painting. was only going to work on it for a little while, but it seemed to go really fast and i seemed to get ALOT done on it before i would usually stop working (due to the large faces and one bust which goes rather quickly for me to paint)
so i decided to finish it. i had already done 3 pages when i started this, and then worked on this for 6 hours straight. i cannot believe how bad my hand hurt at the end of the night. fully rendering these things always takes it's toll on my hands, where coloring pages doesn't really do much to them. hmm.....
initial lines by romano molenaar,
digital paints by me, nei ruffino.
feel free to comment but know i have discouraged criticism as this piece is finished and i do not plan on working it any further..
My local comic shop just got this issue in, and I'm totally going to buy it when I go there to pick up some other stuff in the next few days. I would love to get it signed. Are you coming to the New York area for a convention any time soon/in the coming year?
I'm also here wondering.... is this a different coloring style than you do for the GL books, or am I just seeing it that way because the line art is dropped? Or both?
...im melting in its awesomeness~~~
